Kingdom come
Except from the vision
Kingdom Come
This is my unexpected journey to my grave
From me to you from beyond my agony ensued
An antagonist I pursued ; is it somewhere safe,
This road less traveled? Or should I leave things to unravel?
Just like you, I was highly suspect at first,
Looking for clues I thought I could avoid or delay,
Or wouldn’t have to make the choice at all,
Like a cut to the throat from someone up there on the throne.
I figured, though I wasted my youth and time chasing figures
And pretended to change, I would be covered by you, Christ
Jesus.
I figured since I attended your church,
My slate would be wiped clean from sin.
In life, I went prepared ; before my lengthy journey finished,
My supplies diminished.
That’s why I lived deprived of fun,
Chasing joy and fruits I can’t enjoy.
Hell was unheard of to some
While the damned relinquished the dream before it
materialized.
Some sinned, some sought repentance again and again,
Like Cain, they wondered why fewer people die from sniffing
cocaine
Than in pursuit of your true riches.
Nine virgin bitches and whatever your Bible teaches,
Many thoughts diverging, almost like a diversion
Chanting from the real issue at play.
Anyway, for me, life is a freeway minus the leeway.
A lot of people walking never seem to care where they’ll go.
Maybe they know ; they just stopped to care, that’s all.
And all there is to it is,
Lovers bond, peacemakers coexist,
The curious discover, the sinners resist,
While the saved persist.
But in the end, after life,
They all must die.
